His and Her Market Canada offers virtual vendor markets to assist small business owners in their business growth while obtaining new customers across the country.
This market welcomes absolutely everyone, and it is an inclusive, safe space for all. We accept all Canadian small business owners for our virtual markets. Makers, artists, creators, independent consultants, service providers, and more are welcome to participate.
Hi everyone! My name is Alexa, and I am the founder and CEO of the His and Her Market. I have always been extremely passionate about helping people reach their goals in life, no matter the circumstance. I also always found myself jumping towards the opportunity to help people anytime they were in need, whether it be volunteer work or assisting a new business owner with graphic design or marketing. I always knew that I wanted to impact our community positively; I just wasn't sure exactly how I would do it.
It took me some time to realize what my niche was! I spent nine years in the culinary industry but never felt completely fulfilled. I knew I was still searching for my true purpose, but it took a lot of time plus trial and error within my own experiences to realize it.
From a very young age, I was known to have an entrepreneur mindset and always looked for new ways to start something new. I was always looking for common gaps in specific industries and did extensive research on making a difference in each sector for our community. Within the nine years of working in the kitchen, I made my own soy wax candles, custom t-shirts, baked goods, meditation-videos, and more, I noticed that there was one thing in common with each journey that I found myself to be naturally good at, and it was marketing! Many close family and friends who are small business owners constantly looked to me for advice on quick ways to grow, create fresh, eye-catching content, and reach a new customer base outside of their region. While assisting others in succeeding, I constantly looked for ways to educate myself. I took many courses, watched many videos, spoke with business mentors, listened to a podcast daily for over two years straight, went to business-building seminars, participated in over 25 vendor markets, and SO much more. The extensive research was endless. I was constantly improving and feeding myself with knowledge and am still to this day always looking for new ways to learn & improve.
Then it hit me... If I could combine marketing, assisting people in reaching their goals while making a positive impact in the community, I would genuinely feel fulfilled. After the realization, I immediately hit the drawing board. I wanted to create a vendor market to assist small business owners in their growth that welcomes absolutely everyone and is an inclusive, safe space for all. After brainstorming up some ideas with my fiance, we came up with the His and Her Market. His (Jalen- my fiance), and Her (myself!). The name is in honour of our love, and the market welcomes everyone. I also noticed that there were many markets out there for moms, dads, or only open to specific groups of some sort. I happen to be a part of the LGBTQ community and felt that there needed to be a vendor market that includes all business owners with open arms.
Fast forward to 9 months later, and I have transitioned this page from "His and Her Market Niagara" into "His and Her Market Canada". The market grew very quickly in a short amount of time and began to reach small business owners all across the country, so the new name was fitting. I now run monthly virtual markets for business owners that would like to expand Canada-wide, and I couldn't be any more humbled or grateful for this incredible experience. I connect with new business owners across the country daily, have made SO many new beautiful friends, and most importantly, I am doing what I LOVE! I have built a strong, loving community of small business owners and small shop supporters and am continuing to reach new people every day.
I know there has been a lot of curiosity regarding this topic: in-person markets! I will soon be hiring a new host based out of the Niagara region to start a location that holds markets specifically for those within the area and other places across the country. This market (Canada-wide) location will run strictly virtual markets that are open to everyone in Canada.
At the moment, I have two other market hosts. One is based out of Calgary, Alberta and one is in Vancouver Island. Expect to see many more hosts across the country within the next year! The new locations across the country will be running in-person markets over time, so stay tuned for that.
Thank you so much, everyone, for your endless support! I couldn't be any happier working with such talented, creative small business owners daily, and I am genuinely honoured to expose them to small shop supporters across the country. This experience has been a blast so far, and I am looking forward to meeting more of you.
I would absolutely LOVE the opportunity to connect with you, and have you in one of our markets! Send me an email or DM on instagram at anytime.

Hello! I'm Tania, the host of the His and Her Market Calgary. I joined the His and Her Market family in late February and the Easter Market was my 1st event. Before joining as the host, I was a vendor with Alexa, the host of our original market, @hisandhermarketcanada. After having participated in a few of her virtual markets, I took the leap and decided to join as a host. Alexa took me under her wing and helped me grow my market page.
I'm a mom of 2 kids, wife to a very supportive man, and I love Calgary and the beautiful Mountains that surround us. My favourite things to do while travelling is stopping in at farmer's markets. The sights, the smells... the FINDS! I love moving from stall to stall, chatting up the vendors and seeing their faces light up as they tell me about how they go into their business - so much pride and joy.
One of the greatest joys of running this market is getting to meet the ridiculously talented vendors. Our neck of the woods has an abundance of extremely talented makers and small business entrepreneurs! They're wildly creative, hardworking and dedicated to their craft and service.Customer service is my jam. I'm a firm believer in giving and receiving exceptional value for our money.
I'm curious, tenacious, (mostly) patient and believe in creating and cultivating relationships.
I love working alongside vendors and helping you grow and thrive. I love brainstorming ideas that you might not have thought of and helping you improve their virtual presence.
And to the public, I love bringing you fun and unique small shops to browse through. Items that you'd normally find in a market and those that make you "Ohhh, I hadn't thought of that and I LOVE it!" A little something for everyone, including our furry friends.
Thank you so much for supporting my market!
One day, I might host in-person markets, but for now, I'm really enjoying the virtual experience.
Fun Facts about me:
-Stick up for the underdog

Hi! I’m Madisyn, and I am the host of the His & Her Market Vancouver Island. Being a market host means I am here to interact with incredibly talented small business owners, and make sure their experience at our markets is a positive and enjoyable one.
I have been a helper for as long as I can remember; from encouraging other kids on the playground, to assisting everyday people in customer service jobs, I have always found passion in supporting others in any life capacity. I pride myself in going above and beyond to accomplish whatever goal I may have set, and that motivation only increases when I’m helping others.
I found the His & Her Markets through being a vendor in their virtual markets myself. I was looking to expand my business reach across Canada, saw how inclusive and welcoming the His & Her Market was and knew I wanted to join in. After participating in several markets as a vendor and having nothing but positivity, I expressed interest to the founder in hosting a market for my region should the opportunity ever arise.
Whenever I find things I am passionate about, I want to be involved and help in any way I can; I care and want to see success. I come to the His & Her Markets with a marketing and social media background, hoping I can show my fellow islanders the same wonderful experiences I have had with these markets and the people that run them.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us in any way as we begin our Vancouver Island virtual market journey. I am honoured to be supporting the immense talent we have here on the island and showcase it to small shop supporters all over! Stay tuned for our first market details & dates in the near future.
I look forward to chatting and meeting more of you!
